Junior stars sing their hearts out at Colourful Radio

Emotions spread over like a rainbow at London Radio station Colourful Radio on Saturday 8th July as contestants came from over London to compete on the Junior Star Singer 2017 Radio Tour.  Contestants Sarah Johnstone, Erica Soares Gallbiaith and Serenity Owiriwa were the applicants put forward for one of the London shows on the Tour at Colourful Radio's new location in Great Suffolk Street.

Singing their choices of a wide range of pop tracks, from Adele to Jesse Glynn, the contestants were outstanding. With the atmosphere being so intense as nervous contestants waited in the lounge before they were asked to go on, there were a few emotions bubbling on the surface.

Check out these outstanding stars we had on the show.

It can often be tough on Junior Star Singer.  As we all know it is very difficult to just go live on air and sing to thousands of listeners.  There was definitely a lot of brave contestants today.  The show only proved that, as tears were shed after it was over.  The question is .............how did the contestants think they did? and who is likely to go through to the big final in December from our this London location.  All will be revealed later in the autumn after all 20 shows have played on air.
"The best thing is that contestants participate, to give themselves a chance to build their confidence. They will always be a winner if that's what they do as they have proved to themselves that they can sing on a radio show where so many listeners can hear them."
Among the judges this year are Britain's Got Talent winner Richard Hadfield, Junior Judge Georgia Lois, and record producer Matt who all have had experience of either working with artists or being in talent shows.  They have lived the experience of what it is like to be in a similarly intense, nerve wracking situation!!!!  It is never easy!!!!  Amanda Neale, founder and main presenter for Junior Star Singer comments:

"The best thing is that contestants participate, to give themselves a chance to build their confidence.  This is itself is a great thing.  They will always be a winner if that's what they do as they have proved to themselves that they can sing on a radio show where so many listeners can hear them.  They are getting exposure either way and taking that first step to reaching their goals, which for many young artists is a wonderful achievement."

The Junior Star Singer team also had some fun times with special guest Teide Bryce who is touring on the Junior Star Singer Tour this year as well as Shania Rowe, winner in the best songwriting category from 2016. Watch their interviews below:

They were bundles of fun!!!!  They stopped for coffee before the radio show and just thought they would kill a bit of time.....................think perhaps our presenters had a bit too many frappuccinos!!!!

Look out for Teide Bryce who will be performing at the Cavern Club this year on August 11th.  Teide's music career has gone from strength to strength as a live performer who has been performing with her guitar and writing from an early age, she has gigged at festivals and made TV appearances already this year on the tour.  Check out her music at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool later in the summer.

Junior Star Singer is a national radio tour going across the UK on 20 radio stations and next year we will be advertising for Junior Star Singer Europe which gives young artists in Europe a chance to compete, along with those in the UK.  Heats will be held on the radio next year along side Junior Star Singer in the UK.  All details can be found on www.juniorstarsinger.co.uk
